Here at Crazy Cool Comics we’re gearing up for Tuesday’s release of The Amazing Spider-Man. While Tobey Maguire did a good job as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, newcomer Andrew Garfield’s performance is said to be mind-blowing! Are you planning to see the film on July 3rd?
As many of our readers know, we are HUGE Batman freaks! While we love all of our awesome heroes, Batman is definitely one of our favorites. The villains are just as fun and exciting as our beloved Dark Knight, especially the Joker, Poison Ivy, Two-Face, Catwoman, and the fantastic Harley Quinn! Yes, there are other villains such as Penguin, Bane and Scarecrow, but you get the idea.
Back in 2003, Batman Adventures #1 delivered a fresh, entertaining story that found Batman at Arkham Asylum, trying to protect his greatest foes from a new kind of terror. Oswald Cobblepot, a.k.a. Penguin, has been elected Mayor of Gotham City, and has labeled Batman as an outlaw. When a gang of assassins break into Arkham Asylum to destroy Two-Face, Poison Ivy and other villains, it’s up to Batman to find out why.
A lot happens in the first issue, including a “death” for Poison Ivy, a lobotomized Joker, another attempt by Killer Croc to kill Batman, and one pissed off Harley Quinn. This is one terrific issue with plenty of action and humor for die-hard fans.
Batman Adventures #1 is written by Ty Templeton and Dan Slott, with artwork by Rick Burchett, Terry Beatty and Lee Loughridge.
